B-Spoke meeting – March 2012

The next B-Spoke meeting will be on Monday 12th March at:
Bradford Community Voluntary Service
Voluntary Services Centre
19/25 Sunbridge Road
Bradford
West Yorkshire
BD1 2AY

The centre doesn’t open until 6.30 so we will begin just after that time. We will be in the Mabel Booth room. If you have any items to add to the agenda, please forward to info@cyclebradford.org.uk

We will distribute and complete agenda nearer the time, but it should include:

  • an update on the success of our Cycle Strategy
  • an introduction from Carl Tinson on the Local Sustainable Transport Fund Cycle Project for West Yorkshire and,
  • a brief tutorial from West Yorkshire Police Officers following a spate of Bike Crime.

We have finalised a date for CycleFest, this year to be on the 16th June 2012. Again, in Roberts Park, Saltaire so please save the date.

We are also looking at putting together a cycle based float for the Lord Mayors Parade on the 19th May. Any suggestions for this will be most welcome.

Look forward to seeing you then and as always please pass this on to people you think may be interested in chatting about all things cycling with us.

16th June is the day of the Great Yorkshire bike ride, so not good timing … :-)

Yeah, it’s a shame but in defence of the organisers (and I’m not one of them!), sometimes you just got to pick a date!

With the SkyRide happening on 1st July (I think) this date gives a 2 week link between the two events which allows lots of other stuff to take place in between.

Also the GYBike Ride and Cyclefest might be hitting slightly different audiences. I’d love to see some sort of technological link up where Bradfordians on the ride could somehow still be part of Cyclefest. (There is also a group on their way/or way back from Hamm) Satellite tracking, Skype interviews, YouTube posts, twitter…
