A new cycling network – by women, for women

British Cycling’s new National Women’s Cycling Network will deliver tens of thousands of cycling opportunities for women across the country.

On Saturday 16th April 2011 there will be a day’s training in the Bradford district for women who want to become cycling champions. If you are interested in becoming a women’s cycling champion please let Dan Goodey (DanielGoodey@britishcycling.org.uk) know and he will be able to send out some further information about the course.

These fun, recreational group bike rides will be led by women for women. They will be on local routes, planned and mapped by women trained by British Cycling. The new national network empowers women to change the face of cycling for good and leave a lasting legacy. The three year programme will see 1000 women trained to become local champions and ride leaders and a massive increase in the number of women cycling regularly.

  • Dedicated training and support to female volunteer champions motivating like-minded women to get on a bike
  • Fun and local bike rides led by women, for women
  • Information on female friendly bike shops and bike hire schemes
  • Easy to use website and registration process
  • Charity events
  • Training – female instructors helping people get their bike

British Cycling is inviting women who’d like to become local cycling champions or just find out more information to get in touch.

    Hi,

I took part in the first training course held in Manchester last weekend and had a great day. I can recommend it to anyone who is thinking of taking part.

During the week i’m based in Manchester but at the weekends I come home to Bradford, so I’d be keen to network with other Bradford Breeze Ride Leaders and help out co-leading rides at the weekends.
